Embracing Liberation
The world I see is burning
Not of the bright sunny disposition, you’d imagine
But a flame that burns from within
In the wake, the soot, the smoke, and the ashes rising
Every mouth I see, the lips outline
Fly free, rule, reign, and own your time
But a hand tightens the noose on the side
Naming culture, morality, and laws divine
The age-old, honesty, modesty, and chastity
Put together in the right quantities
Still delineates a woman, determines her qualities
Prim and proper, virginal faces, remain the ideal fantasy
God forbid she deviates, either by will or by mistake
It is only right the world now knows her by her wanton ways
Begging for abuse, savagery, and vulgar gaze
Men aside, women against women in this evil partake
If anytime the blood is spilt, we light candles
March ahead, decry violence in passionate vigils
Until the sun burns bright again
On new causes and passions of personal gains
Deceptive assurances and false proclaims
Fool gullible hearts, that the times have changed
Illusions of liberty and authority, sketch a new age
And unassumingly she follows many a pied piper’s trails
